The original transfer is just visible on the seat tube. Motor Spares Elizabeth St" ( Melbourne ).It may have been brand name associated with the Repco group of companies.Overhauled, all bearings good. Mechanically good. Garage cleanout. Both wheels are Araya steel 27 1/4 inch. Front tyre and tube are brand new. Front brake is the old Phillips type, centre pull, and works well.Rear hub is Sturmey Archer speed, with 90 m/m drum brake. The old gear change lever is very rare. It works similarly to the 'gate' change on petrol tank of an old motorcycle. The rider back-pedals slightly to change gear, or at least take the pressureoff the drive, and feel the lever into the notch.
The brakes are quite good. The bike rolls along very smoothly, and quietly.Geared DOWN, with two low gears and one normal. 40, 54, 72 Gear Inches.There is rear mudguard, but none on the front. Tool bag behind the saddle requires new straps.I may deliver this bike for free, if within reasonable radius of home.Prospective Buyers please send post code, so that freight cost may be calculated.Otherwise, buyer may pick up, or pay freight. Packed in standard bicycle carton.
