RAPHAEL GEMINIANI BICYCLE FULLY RESTORED RARE VINTAGE ITALIAN MADE. An opportunity to buy rare Italian made RAPHAEL GEMINIANI – “Le Grand Fusil”. The frame is entirely Reynolds 531 tubing and is equipped with super quality range of Italian and French components, most of which are from the original build. It has been re-finished in sky blue and white in homage to the early Geminiani Team's racing colours. Despite the name, Geminiani is actually French; his parents having fled toFrance to escape the Fascist regime then developing in Italy. He had very successful career as racer, including several TdF podium finishes and King of the Mountains jerseys. He was fearsome climber, earning his nickname “Le Grand Fusil” (the Big Gun). He licensed his name for range of bikes, most of which were made by several prominent French builders. Latterly, production moved to Italy but it is unclear which specific firm made them. Geminiani's name is closely linked to Ugo de Rosa, after the famous Italian builder was contracted to produce racing bike for Geminiani's own use. This machine has been rebuilt from the ground up – all components stripped and cleaned, and re-greased where needed. The frame and forks were grit blasted to remove old paint and any light rust beforereceiving an electrostatic zinc primer and then the final finish –a powder coat blue followed by professionally sprayed enamel white panels. Custom made decals were then applied to match the originals and all over-coated with two layers of clear acrylic lacquer. Here'sthe detail: Year: 1970
